Madzikanda Duo to Spend Night in Custody Over Alleged Online Abuse

Sir Wicknell Chivayo’s former wife, Sonja Madzikanda, together with her mother, Tabitha Madzikanda, were remanded in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for tomorrow after appearing in court on cyberbullying charges.

The pair is accused of circulating AI-generated images allegedly depicting Sonja’s former husband, Wicknell Chivayo, alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

According to court proceedings, the two were formally charged before being remanded in custody. They are expected to return to court tomorrow for the determination of their bail application.
