In a harrowing and tragic turn of events, a Manchester City supporter fatally assaulted his brother during a heated dispute stemming from the Citizens’ match against Liverpool on Sunday.
The altercation between two siblings, each rooting for opposing teams, escalated to a fatal level when the City fan resorted to violence. The confrontation resulted in the untimely death of 22-year-old Peter Mhike.
Reports indicate that Peter’s brother, 26-year-old Edmore, was responsible for the fatal blow, striking his younger sibling with a stone. Edmore has subsequently been apprehended for the murder of his brother and is currently under investigation at Zhombe Police Station, as documented under RRB 5733072.
Allegedly, the dispute arose when Edmore became incensed by Liverpool supporter Joakim Moyo’s persistent claims regarding his team’s superiority in the highly anticipated match at Anfield, which ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.
Eyewitnesses recount that following the match, tensions flared between Joakim and Peter over the game’s outcome. When Peter initiated physical aggression towards Joakim, Edmore intervened in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.
However, in a tragic twist, Edmore redirected his fury towards his own brother, culminating in the fatal assault with a stone.
