WEST PROP AGREES TO INCLUDE ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE WARREN HILLS BRANDED GOLF ESTATE

Harare | Kenneth Raydon Sharpe, commonly known as Ken Sharpe, is not just a Zimbabwean businessman; he is a testament to resilience, vision, and the power of determination.

As the Executive Chairman of West Properties Company, Sharpe has carved a remarkable path in the business world, leaving an indelible mark on Zimbabwe’s economic landscape.

Born on January 27, 1973, in what was then Rhodesia, Sharpe’s early years were marked by a dynamic blend of experiences. His family relocated to South Africa in 1978, returning to Zimbabwe in 1980 following the country’s independence. This upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for his homeland and a strong sense of entrepreneurial spirit.

In 1990, at the age of 17, Sharpe embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by establishing a confectionery and food distribution business. Over the next two decades, this venture evolved into the expansive West Group Holdings Company, encompassing a diverse portfolio of businesses including West Food Distribution, West Beverages, West Agencies, and more.

One of Sharpe’s most notable achievements is his role as the founder of Augur Investments Ltd, a real estate development company that has played a pivotal role in shaping Zimbabwe’s urban landscape. Through Augur Investments, Sharpe has contributed to the development of infrastructure, residential, and commercial properties, driving economic growth and creating employment opportunities.

This prestigious accolade underscores his commitment to excellence and his ability to navigate challenges with creativity and determination.

However, Sharpe’s journey has not been without its share of obstacles. In 2007, during a private family vacation in Canada, he faced a life-threatening skiing accident that left him unconscious and with severe internal bleeding. Against all odds, Sharpe defied medical prognoses and emerged from a coma five days later, marking a miraculous recovery that inspired many.

Despite facing legal challenges in his career, including accusations of threats and property damage, Sharpe has remained steadfast in his pursuit of justice and integrity. His commitment to ethical business practices and accountability underscores his dedication to upholding values even in the face of adversity.

His daughter Tatiana’s literary pursuits, including her book “The Lonely Tiger,” reflect the family’s commitment to creativity and education.
