Pitso Mosimane has acknowledged the significant impact Zimbabwean players have had on his achievements in the South African Premier Soccer League.
During his eight-year tenure as the head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, Mosimane worked with numerous Zimbabwean talents, including Khama Billiat, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Cuthbert Malajila, and Method Mwanjali.
In a radio conversation with Robert Marawa on Marawa Sports Worldwide, Mosimane shared that he often scouted players during pre-season in Zimbabwe.

“I frequently scouted players from Zimbabwe like Khama Billiat, Cuthbert Malajila, Method Mwanjali, Kuda Mahachi, and others,” he explained.
“I conducted my pre-season preparations in Zimbabwe and would compete against teams such as CAPS United, Highlanders, and Dynamos.
“Many people don’t realize the reason for this, but it’s because there is a wealth of talent in Zimbabwe.”
Pitso Mosimane maintains that Zimbabwe continues to produce skilled footballers, even though fewer of them are currently playing in the South African top league.
He further commented: “If I were to manage a Premier League team that isn’t among the top clubs, I would conduct my pre-season in Zimbabwe, face off against the top three teams there, and I guarantee I would find one or two players to eventually sell to Sundowns, Pirates, or Chiefs.”
