Domestically, Dr. Tungwarara is leading several government-supported initiatives aimed at advancing sustainable development and improving quality of life in Zimbabwe. As part of the Presidential Borehole Scheme, he is overseeing the installation of boreholes to support water access in rural areas.
Additionally, through the Presidential Solar Scheme, Dr. Tungwarara is helping address Zimbabwe’s energy needs by promoting renewable energy.
This project, already piloted in Glen View, Harare, involves installing solar panels on rooftops at no cost to homeowners, with the generated energy feeding into the national grid.
