Vybz Kartel and his three co-convicts are on the edge of their seats as anticipation mounts for the announcement of the UK-based Privy Council’s decision on their murder conviction appeal.
Set to be unveiled on Thursday, starting at 11 a.m. Jamaica time, the ruling will be livestreamed, marking nearly a decade since Kartel and his associates were originally found guilty.
During the appeal hearings, spanning two days in February, the Law Lords delved into various aspects of the case, notably scrutinizing the judge’s handling of the trial.

One key point of contention arose when it was revealed that a member of the jury pool had attempted to bribe the foreman to sway the verdict in Kartel’s favor. This revelation cast doubt on the fairness of the trial and is expected to weigh heavily on the Council’s decision.
The case, which dates back to March 13, 2014, saw Adidja Palmer (Vybz Kartel), Shawn Campbell (also known as “Shawn Storm”), Kahira Jones, and Andre “Mad Suss” St. John convicted for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. Subsequently, all four were handed life sentences.
As the anticipation mounts, stakeholders and fans alike await the outcome of this highly anticipated ruling, which could potentially have far-reaching implications for the future of the case and those involved.
