Rapper Voltz JT Finally Meets President Emmerson Mnangagwa

Zimbabwean rapper Voltz JT finally got a chance to meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday and he is reveling in the moment.

Voltz, real name Nkosilathi Sibiya, was a guest artist at the pre-Independence Children’s Party held by President Mnangagwa at Pfura Stadium in Mt Darwin. On the 17th of April every year, President Mnangagwa invites school children for a party to celebrate Independence Day.

After President Mnangagwa had delivered his speech to the thousands of school children in attendance, Voltz JT took the stage to entertain the 2000s kids who eagerly anticipated him.

The How Far hitmaker rocked the audience with his song Pfuurai Nekuno which features South African hip hop artist Emtee.

As he serenaded the crowd, the uniformed children got on their feet to dance and sing along to the track, much to the amusement of President Mnangagwa, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Ministers and the government and ZANU PF dignitaries who were in attendance.

After his performance, he was invited on stage to greet President Mnangagwa and his wife Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa.

Voltz JT got to the podium and knelt on one leg to pay respect to the Zimbabwean leader and his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga.

In a picture making rounds on social media, people wonder what the rapper was saying to the country’s Presidium, as both of them seemed to be smiling as they chatted with him.

President Mnangagwa is supportive of the arts and musical artists. In 2017, while he was still Vice President, he was the guest of honour at Jah Prayzah’s Kutonga Kwaro album launch.

In 2022 at the by-election campaign launch in Epworth, President Mnangagwa also got to meet popular Mbare producers DJ Fantan and Levelz.
