On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, there was a strong hailstorm in Zvishavane that seriously damaged Gresham Primary School.
159 students were left stranded after the hailstorm toppled trees and blew off the roofs of many classrooms. Nobody was hurt.

The head of the school, Chrispen Moyo, stated that the hailstorm seriously damaged school supplies, including as furniture, workbooks, and textbooks. The District Civil Protection Unit (CPU) is currently awaiting assistance from the school, which has already reported the incident to the authorities.
According to Moyo, the hailstorm was so strong that it uprooted big trees in the area and blew off the roofs of classrooms. He did, however, affirm that there had been no reports of injuries among the faculty or personnel. To the Chronicle, Moyo said:
On Wednesday afternoon, there was a hailstorm that destroyed our school, blowing off the roofs of our classrooms. Enormous trees around the school were also pulled down.
As of now, no one has been hurt, and we have turned in our report to the authorities.
The Zvishavane District Development Coordinator, Darlington Chokera, stated that they are presently evaluating the degree of damage in addition to the CPU. Chokera stated:
