Study in Germany: DAAD Scholarships for International Graduates

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships to graduates with at least two years of work experience from emerging and recently industrialized nations.

Postgraduate, master’s, and, in exceptional cases, PhD degrees are offered via these scholarships to German universities that are either state-owned or state-recognized.

Host Institutions: German universities with development-related postgraduate programs

Level/Field of Study:

Economic sciences, business administration, political economics, development cooperation, engineering, mathematics, natural and environmental sciences, agriculture and forest sciences, public health, social sciences, education, law, and media studies are just a few of the fields offering master’s and doctoral programs.

Number of Scholarships: Limited

Scholarship Benefits:

Monthly Payments: €934 for Master’s students, €1,300 for doctoral candidates
Insurance: Health, accident, and personal liability coverage
Travel Allowance: If not covered by other sources
Duration: 12 to 24 months for Master’s, 42 months for PhD

Professional Experience: At least two years in a public authority or a state/private company in a developing country, involved in development policy projects
Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (normally four years), above-average results, and academic degrees typically no older than six years
Language Requirements:
German Courses: Minimum B1 level in German, with a 6-month language course included
English Courses: Proof of English language proficiency as per course requirements
