Hon. Ephraim Fundukwa has been praised for initiating the launch of the Tonganyika Trust programme in Churu Constituency, which offers free courses to the community.

Speaking at the programme launch yesterday, Tonganyika Trust National Coordinator, Saul Murangwa, said the initiative empowers people of all ages, with both young and old encouraged to participate.

“We are offering courses for everyone, regardless of age, leaving no one behind as we move forward with Vision 2030.

We have basic life skills programmes that we are offering across all provinces for free, so that every person can acquire skills to help prevent poverty in the country,” he said.

Harare City Council Southern District Officer, Mr. Jonas Mberikunashe, praised the Tonganyika Trust for providing free courses to communities.

“I would like to thank Hon. Ephraim Fundukwa and the Tonganyika Trust for launching such a programme for our people in Churu Constituency.

All the courses align well with the vision of attaining a smart Harare by 2030, in line with the Government’s mantra of leaving no place and no one behind,” he said.

Ward 6 Coordinator, Cde Trust Rutsvara, said the Tonganyika Trust initiative will improve livelihoods in the constituency.

“This programme is aimed at improving the living standards of people in our constituency. It will also help in the fight against drug and substance abuse.

People will now focus more on learning rather than engaging in drugs. We thank our Hon. MP Fundukwa for bringing such an initiative to our constituency,” he said.

Tonganyika Trust is an initiative offering free courses to every Zimbabwean, led by Hon. Minister Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa. To date, over one million people have benefited from the programme.
