Walter Chahwanda, a 33-year-old Zimbabwean gospel singer, model, and pastor based in the UK, was taken into custody on Thursday, March 13, in connection with multiple sexual offense charges, including rape.
Chahwanda, who heads the Walter Chahwanda Ministries, faces charges of rape, assault by penetration, and sending explicit images with the intent to cause alarm, distress, or humiliation.
His arrest follows an investigation conducted by Merseyside Police.
On Saturday, March 15, Chahwanda appeared before Liverpool Adult Remand Court, where he was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, April 14.
Chahwanda has been active in the gospel music scene for years, previously hosting his ‘My Devotion’ Live DVD recording at the Piccadilly Banqueting Suite in Birmingham in 2015 when he was 24 years old.
