Outspoken war veteran Blessed “Bombshell” Geza has strongly cautioned Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner General Stephen Mutamba, urging him to refrain from using force against citizens exercising their constitutional right to protest.
In an interview with HStv, Geza asserted that no individual should face arrest for demonstrating and warned that war veterans would intervene if authorities resorted to such actions.
He emphasized that the right to protest is fundamental, reminding that many Zimbabweans sacrificed their lives to secure this freedom. Speaking via The Mirror, Geza stated:
“Consider this a warning, Mutamba. If we hear of anyone being arrested for exercising their constitutional rights, you will face the consequences. If we learn that someone has been shot for exercising these same rights—rights that thousands gave their lives for—there will be repercussions.
Do not allow personal connections or favoritism to influence your actions. I specifically caution members of the security forces, particularly the police.”
Additionally, Geza criticized the excessive roadblocks across Zimbabwe, cautioning Commissioner General Mutamba against transforming the nation into a police state.
He is among a group of war veterans openly opposing ZANU PF’s attempts to amend the Constitution and postpone the 2028 elections—a move that could extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rule until 2030.
