HARARE — In a major shake-up following the dramatic exit of head coach Norman Mapeza, Mabvuku-based side Scottland FC have officially appointed a new interim technical team to steer the club through the remainder of the season.
The technical realignment comes immediately after Mapeza and his coaching staff were shown the door in the wake of the club’s elimination from the CAF Champions League. Legendary former Warriors captain Peter Ndlovu, who was previously serving as team manager, has been elevated to lead the interim setup as head coach while the club’s hierarchy searches for a permanent successor.
The revamped setup sees Danger Fourpence step up from the Scottland Academy to take on the first assistant role. Veteran forward Knowledge Musona assumes a dual player-coach responsibility as the second assistant to bring leadership both on the pitch and in the dugout, while goalkeeper Talbert Shumba also takes on player-coach duties to oversee the goalkeeping department.
Ndlovu’s immediate task will be steadying the ship for the remaining Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixtures and the upcoming Munhumutapa Challenge Cup semi-finals as Scottland aim to close out the domestic campaign on a high.
Peter has his first match on Thursday as Scottland clashes with Caps United at Rufaro Stadium.
