The doctors said there is need for DNA tests after they failed to identify her because there were two ladies in the vehicle. The tests may take two to three weeks to be out.

The funeral service for Moana at Doves Funeral Parlour could not happen as her paternal and maternal families were locked in a stalemate. Her maternal side wanted her buried at Zororo Memorial Park while the father’s family insisted on Domboshava.

It took the families two hours locked in a meeting. The bone of contention is the manner in which the late fitness enthusiast will be buried. Her father prefers a Muslim burial, while the mother`s side seeks to lay her to rest following Christian conventions.

After a long meeting, it appeared the families reached a compromise. According to Moana’s uncle (maternal) she will be buried at Zororo Memorial Park on 19 November 2020.

Her paternal side still insists it will be a Muslim burial and it seems preparations have been adjusted accordingly.

After a burial dispute involving her paternal and maternal families that ended up at the High Court in Harare, Judge Justice Kwenda ruled that the late socialite Moana can now be buried and “The burial rights are awarded to the father of the deceased to lead the burial ceremonies of the deceased and in consultation with the mother of the deceased and the maternal family…”
