Zimbabwe Football Association Appoints Michael Nees as New Head Coach

Harare, Zimbabwe – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is thrilled to unveil Michael Nees as the new head coach of the Zimbabwe Men’s National Team.

The 57-year-old German is set to take the reins as the Warriors prepare for the upcoming AFCON 2025 and FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

ZIFA Chairman Lincoln Mutasa expressed confidence in Nees’s appointment, stating, “ZIFA is confident that Michael Nees’s appointment will usher in a new era of success for the Warriors. His vast experience, combined with his innovative coaching style, makes him the ideal candidate to lead our national team to new heights.”

With a wealth of international coaching experience, Nees is expected to bring a fresh perspective and strategic approach to the Warriors, as they aim to excel in their upcoming tournaments.

Who is Michael Nees?

Michael Nees (born 23 July 1967) is a German professional football coach and former player who last worked as manager of the Kosovo national under-21 team.

At the end of January 2017, Nees start working as technical director in Football Federation of Kosovo and came with the recommendation and funding of the German Football Association, he would deal with all the technical work of Kosovo national teams starting from national youth teams to national senior team.
