Four Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) employees have been arrested for allegedly soliciting bribes in exchange for releasing confiscated goods.
The accused—Gwatirinda Paul (42), Mutwira Obert (40), Homera Simon Tavaguta (38), and Maguta Jonathan (38)—recently appeared before Harare magistrate Taurai Manuwere, facing charges of criminal abuse of office.
In response to the incident, Zimra issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability, stating that corruption will not be tolerated.
“Zimra would like to address the allegations against four of our staff members accused of extortion and abuse of office.
