Brace yourself for an electrifying day of rhythm, racing, and revelry as sungura icon Alick Macheso headlines a star-studded entertainment lineup at the 65th Castle Tankard, happening on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the renowned Borrowdale Racecourse.
Touted as “the people’s party on the turf,” this year’s event promises more than just world-class horse racing—it’s a full-scale festival that blends sport, culture, and music into one unforgettable experience.
Festivities kick off at 10 a.m. and continue through 7:30 p.m., offering a family-friendly atmosphere brimming with excitement, live performances, and high-energy thrills.
Returning by popular demand, Alick Macheso—affectionately known as Extrabasso—is set to deliver another unforgettable performance, backed by his band Orchestra Mberikwazvo. Known for his deep basslines, signature dance moves, and stage charisma, Macheso is sure to light up the crowd with a set packed with fan favorites.
But he won’t be taking the spotlight alone.
The entertainment bill is loaded with some of Zimbabwe’s hottest acts, including Zimdancehall sensation Enzo Ishall, along with Delroy Shewe, Nisha Ts, Oriyano, and the ever-energetic Chillspot Family—guaranteeing a vibrant party atmosphere that will keep the audience moving.
