Chalton Hwende, the Member of Parliament for Kuwadzana East representing the CCC, revealed that he held a two-hour discussion with the party’s former president, Nelson Chamisa, this Tuesday following Chamisa’s sudden resignation.
In a post shared on X this Thursday, Hwende disclosed that Chamisa firmly stated his decision to never return to the CCC and indicated that he will soon announce his next steps. Charles expressed his agreement with Chamisa’s stance.

Hwende, intending to seek guidance from his constituents, emphasized Chamisa’s continued significance as the opposition’s leading figure in challenging ZANU PF’s dominance.
Hwende, previously a close ally of Chamisa within the MDC Alliance, secured the secretary-general position at the party’s congress in Gweru in 2019. However, his failure to denounce Sengezo Tshabangu during the recall turmoil, which could potentially bolster ZANU PF’s parliamentary majority, raised concerns among analysts.
