Champions Man City beat Arsenal to go top. Heading into the clash, the Gunners, after a brilliant start to the season which made their fans believe they would end their long wait for the Premier League title, were three points clear at the top.
Defending English Premier League champions Manchester City beat early pace-setters Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium to go top of the table. But Pep Gurdaiola’s men were simply the better team from the onset and needed just 24 minutes to open the scoring, through Kevin De Bruyne.
Arsenal equalized just before the half time break through Buyako Saka’s cooly-converted penalty. 1-1 it was at half time. Two late goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland ensured that City collected three points and leapfrogged Arsenal to the top of the table. Both teams are now level on 51 points but City have a superior goal.
