Harare:Borrowdale Racecourse will swap its usual turf and tipsters mood for a sea of purple and pink this Saturday, 24 October 2026, when the Purple Bloom Pink Ribbons race day brings horse racing, live music and a breast cancer awareness drive under one roof.
Soulful songstress Feli Nandi, whose powerful vocals have made her one of the country’s most sought-after performers, is billed to share the stage with Jah Prayzah. Afro-pop sensation Victor Kunonga and the dynamic Shami Tuku complete the line-up, promising a soundscape wide enough to suit every race day taste.
Behind the glamour sits a serious cause. The “Pink Ribbons” in the event’s name is a nod to breast cancer awareness and the initiative is presented in partnership with CancerServe, a non-governmental organisation focused on cancer support and advocacy.
ZimBho, Experience Zimbabwe and the Mashonaland Turf Club are also listed as key partners. Featuring races on the day, the event aims to raise awareness and funds for the health issue, blending high fashion and entertainment with community responsibility.
Revellers are expected to embrace the purple and pink dress code with their boldest outfits, adding to the colour of the occasion. Tickets are available through SahwiGate, with the Diamond Enclosure going for US$25 and the VVIP section for US$100.
With premier racing, a star-studded music line-up and a meaningful cause, the Purple Bloom Pink Ribbons race day is shaping up to be a standout Saturday outing for Harare’s socialites and music lovers alike.
