Afro-Dancehall artist, Freeman HKD is set to drop his 14th studio album, titled Peace on 21 October, three days before the third edition of the HKD Festival.
The album, according to Freeman HKD, traverses a range of themes and life experiences with the central message being the importance of peace in our communities, countries and individual lives.
“The upcoming album is called PEACE. The main message I am trying to portray through the album is the importance of peace.
Peace in our communities, peace in our countries and, most importantly, peace within ourselves. Sometimes the heart itself needs peace,” he told this publication.
He also highlighted that he expects the fans to not only listen to the songs, but understand the rich message they carry that can help them personally.
Releasing a 14th album, with one EP released in 2020, is testament to his,” hard work, consistency, and growth and the journey I have travelled as an artist,”
With the HKD Festival third on 24 October at Glamis Arena, Freeman HKD emphasized that the first and second editions also acted as eye-openers, making this year’s edition “bigger, better and more organized.”
“We have learnt a lot from the first and second editions, including what worked and what needed improvement.
This time around, we are putting more focus on stage management, crowd management and the overall running of the event,” he reiterated.
This year’s line-up, like the preceding years, cuts across various genres and Freeman HKD has promised to give fans a festival for the records.
This year’s lineup features Holy Ten, Daruler HKD, Guspy warrior, Nisha Ts, Jnr Spragga, Feli Nandi, Baba Harare, Delroy Shewe, Xiba, Sane Wav, Nutty O, Queen Kadijah, Blot, Enzo Ishall, Seh Calaz, Hulengende, Nyasha David and Black Warrior.
To add flavor to the fan experience, this year’s edition also features InTotal Band.
Tickets are available physically at Chicken Slice Harare branches, Jongwe corner Harare, and Crown Pharmacies, and online at hkdfestival.com.
