HARARE — President Emmerson Mnangagwa is scheduled to commission the Helcraw Water Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project in Chinhoyi today as part of ongoing government efforts to improve access to clean and safe water across the country.
The initiative, which has already been rolled out in cities such as Harare, forms part of a broader strategy to modernise water infrastructure and enhance municipal service delivery to residents.
Speaking to the media ahead of the commissioning, Helcraw chairman and Murewa West Member of Parliament, Farai Jere, confirmed that all logistical and technical preparations for the launch were complete.
”We want to increase the volume of water connected to residents in line with Vision 2030,” Jere said.
The project aligns with the government’s target of achieving an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, with infrastructure development serving as a central pillar.
Jere added that Helcraw remains committed to expanding clean water access nationwide in line with the government policy of “leaving no one and no place behind.”
