Harare| President Mnangagwa’s son has come under spotlight again following revelations that he is withholding and disallowing his ex-lover to see their 4 year old daughter.
The lady only identified as ‘Al-Marie Iris Hall’ says she hasn’t seen her baby for the last three years and has been trying to do so ever since.
Before meeting Almerie, Mnangagwa was 30 years old and had four children (all males) with his wife Rashida. A year later, she became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter (Harmony Anani Mnangagwa).
Mnangagwa is alleged to have acquired custody of the kid when the courts issued a default judgment after it was reported that the mother and her counsel were 30 minutes late to court.
Controversial magistrate Lazini Ncube presided over the case and stated that he had relied on an unfavourable assessment by a social worker that suggested Almerie had a lengthy history of drug misuse and hence was an undesirable mother.
According to a source who talked to ZiMetro News, Mnangagwa used his power as the president’s son to compel the social worker into creating a damaging report.
They allege Mnangagwa was enraged that Almerie had stopped the romance and threatened to take the baby away if she did not return to the Harare flat he was renting for her.
“Mnangagwa did this because she abandoned him… He is wealthy and powerful. He swore to punish her, and that is exactly what has occurred,” according to the insider.
According to another report, Zimbabwean Islamic Scholar Ismail ibn Musa Menk, popularly known as Mufti Menk, played a significant role in calming the marital conflict that erupted when Mnangagwa admitted to his wife Rashida about the affair.
