Harare, Zimbabwe | The upscale Sam Levy’s Village in Borrowdale, Harare, is not up for sale and its US$120 million price tag was leaked during a realtor training exercise.
This comes after rumours circulated on social media on Monday that Sam Levy’s Village owners, the Levy family, had hired Pam Golding Properties as their realtors in order to sell the property for a whopping US$120 million.
The Pam Golding Properties Zimbabwe personnel participated in a training exercise on how to market and sell a property, according to a source that NewsDay published on Tuesday. The Levy family requested that a payment of US$120 million be paid overseas. According to the source:
“The real estate is not for sale. I was informed that the realtors participated in a training exercise on how to market and sell a home as an investment opportunity. Thus, the sale was modelled after Sam Levy’s Village.
“You ask yourself, would you really put the shopping mall’s valuation at US$120 million? I don’t know how it leaked.”
Considering the amount of money invested and the number of expansions throughout the years, it ought to be much more than $1 billion. The proprietors, who are now out of the country, thought this story was hilarious.
The following passage from the presentation mentions Pam Golding Properties Zimbabwe:
It is with great pride that Pam Golding Properties introduces Sam Levy’s Village, the shopping complex that the people of Zimbabwe revere as their most important in the entire nation.
