Patricia Mutandwa, the woman sought by the police for allegedly swindling 34 women out of US$2000 intended for a birthday gift, has been apprehended.
Patricia Mutandwa appeared before the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court where she secured bail upon pleading that she was breastfeeding. She was granted bail in the amount of US$50 and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 8.
Reports indicate that Patricia was seized at a local hotel in Harare subsequent to a meeting with the complainant, Sipho Mazibuko, who promptly notified law enforcement. Her case was documented under CR120/3/24.
Patricia had joined the Esteemed Business Women Zimbabwe group and introduced a birthday club initiative, which garnered the participation of thirty-four women.
