Three Zimbabwean Nationals Arrested in South Africa with Suspected Stolen Diesel
Police in Ogies, Mpumalanga, apprehended three Zimbabwean nationals and seized a total of 2,187 litres of diesel believed to be stolen in a recent operation on Thursday.
The individuals, whose ages range from 24 to 30 years old, were taken into custody following a prior report of coal theft at one of the mines in Middelburg back in February.
According to police spokesperson Col Donald Mdhluli, the arrests unfolded during a follow-up investigation, during which authorities discovered three light delivery vehicles loaded with containers filled with diesel. None of the drivers could provide valid proof of purchase, leading to their arrest on charges related to possession of suspected stolen property, illegal diesel trading, and violations of the Immigration Act.

The suspects are slated to make an appearance in the Ogies magistrate’s court in the near future to face the legal consequences of their alleged involvement in these illicit activities.
“When members were busy with a follow-up on the information, three light delivery vehicles were found fully loaded with containers filled with diesel.
“All drivers could not produce the proof of purchase, hence they were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property, illegal dealing in diesel and contravention of the Immigration Act,” police spokesperson Col Donald Mdhluli said.
