Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend and Hiding Body for Two Days
Residents of Victoria Falls are in shock and disbelief after discovering that a man utilized a shoelace to strangle his partner and then kept her body in his home for a period of two days.
The individual at the center of this alarming court case is Bothwell Nkomo, a 28-year-old resident of Victoria Falls. The case revolves around the tragic death of his girlfriend, Amanda Dube, which he claims was a suicide.
According to the prosecution, Nkomo and Dube engaged in a violent altercation on March 18, 2024, resulting in Dube’s untimely demise. Reports suggest that during the confrontation, Nkomo used a shoelace to strangle Dube, leading to her death.

Rather than reporting the incident to the authorities immediately, Nkomo shockingly opted to hide Dube’s body inside his residence for a chilling two days. The grim discovery was made by a concerned individual who was searching for Dube and stumbled upon the horrifying scene.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe revealed that the witness had gone to the accused’s home in search of Amanda Dube. Upon discovering the deceased’s body, the witness promptly alerted the authorities, leading to Nkomo’s arrest and the recovery of Dube’s decomposing remains.
Following his arrest, Nkomo appeared in court for a preliminary hearing yesterday and has been remanded in custody until April 4, pending further legal proceedings.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has issued a stern warning to the public, urging against the use of violence to resolve disputes.
