Newcastle fan ‘puts dog for sale’ after it chews Wembley tickets

Alan Carling was already miffed after watching his beloved team lose 2-0 at home to Liverpool on Saturday. Goalkeeper Nick Pope was sent off in the Premier League clash meaning he will be suspended for the Wembley showpiece v Man Utd on Sunday.

But heartbroken Toon Army supporter Alan will also miss the game after his pooch Rudy ate his tickets that came through the post that day. He now jokingly said he will sell his golden retriever for a fiver.

Devastated Alan from Newcastle said: “This is my dog Rudy. Rudy is a little b*stard of a pup and thinks letters through the post are an invasion of his home.

“After coming back from watching Newcastle lose at home for the first time this season against Liverpool, conceding two goals and having the keeper sent off in the first half.

“Rudy thought he would give me a laugh by eating the Wembley tickets that were posted whilst I was out. Dog for sale, £5 o.n.o.”

Football fans shared his heartbreak – with some saying the dog was a secret Sunderland fan. Alan Johnson commented: “Holy s*** mate.”

Marc Hamari added: “Your dog’s a Mackem.” Lee Taylor also wrote: “Not saying the dog is innocent or anything, but could the postman be a Mackem?”

Meanwhile, Jade McLellan joked: “This is hilarious.” Finally, Peter Mckenzie said: “Nightmare but not dogs fault. Hope you get replacements.”

Newcastle last faced United at the national stadium in the 1999 FA Cup final – but it ended in heartbreak for the Toon Army as goals from Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes gave the Red Devils a 2–0 win.
