Yadah FC’s reputation has once again come under fire after senior club official, Spencer Muvadi, was slapped with a hefty fine and ban for physically assaulting the team’s goalkeeper, Goodknows Gurure.
Muvadi, who serves as a top executive at the Prophet Walter Magaya-owned outfit, was ordered to pay US$4 000 and banned from all football-related activities for a full year by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) disciplinary committee.
The shocking incident occurred on August 22 at Heart Stadium, shortly after Yadah’s clash with Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Confirming the ruling, PSL spokesperson Kudzai Bare said:
“Mr. Muvadi was found guilty of violating the league’s rules and regulations. The Committee has imposed a fine of US$4 000, plus costs of the hearing.”
In addition to the personal penalty, Muvadi has been barred from conducting any official business on behalf of Yadah or any other PSL team. He will also be denied entry into league stadiums for the next 12 months.
Yadah FC themselves were not spared, with the club handed a US$5 000 fine for failing to control the conduct of their official. The team has just 15 days to settle the penalty.
The PSL underlined its commitment to discipline and professionalism, stating:
“The League remains determined to enforce discipline, safeguard the integrity of the game and ensure a safe environment for all involved.”
For the self-proclaimed “Miracle Boys,” this latest scandal is yet another blow to their image, leaving supporters wondering if divine intervention is enough to rescue their tarnished reputation.
