Zimdancehall performer Tawanda Madondo, better known by her stage name Mbida D, appeared in court on fraud-related charges following reports that she had missed a scheduled performance at an open venue.
He was given $40 in bail by Harare provincial magistrate Jacqueline Gara, who also scheduled a follow-up hearing for May 2. Benjamin Gororo is the complainant, and Dumisani Mtombeni is Madondo’s representative. Mbida D
In line with the State’s evidence, Madondo consented to play at Gororo’s nightclub on 30 March in exchange for a US$100 deposit. It was agreed upon that the balance would be determined following the performance. But Madondo allegedly grew evasive and did not show up on the scheduled date.
He was later captured on April 25 after someone gave the authorities a tip as to his whereabouts.
