Ms. Sibongubuhle Mpindiwa, the Mashonaland West Provincial Mining Director (PMD), has been suspended effective immediately.
Mashonaland West PMD’s suspension was confirmed by Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development Dr. Polite Kambamura, although he did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding it.
Ms. Mpindiwa was detained by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) in the latter part of last year on suspicion of criminal abuse of authority.
