Madzibaba Rap3s Girlfriend’s Daughter
A 31-year-old self-proclaimed church prophet from Gaza Village in Buhera, stood before Masvingo Regional Magistrate Bishard Chineka. He faced accusations of coercing himself onto his girlfriend’s 15-year-old daughter.
According to the state’s case, on February 1, 2024, at approximately 10:00 PM, the accused individual, who works as a herd boy and serves as a prophet in a white garment church, visited his girlfriend’s home as he often did.
The next day, the complainant’s mother instructed her to go to school. While on her way, she met her sister and disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted. She also mentioned that her mother was trying to shield the accused person, who had promised to compensate her.
Both the complainant and her sister went to the police and reported the incident. Consequently, the accused person was arrested on the same day. In his defense, he denied raping the complainant but admitted to touching her breasts while she was under the blankets.
He also claimed to harbor a grudge against the complainant’s sister, alleging that she had sold him a jacket but then refused to give it to him despite receiving payment. He suggested that this vendetta influenced the complainant’s decision to report the matter.
